Description

Manaslu Circuit Trek is a popular trekking route in Nepal that offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range and takes you through traditional Nepalese settlements. The trek circumnavigates the eighth highest mountain in the world, Manaslu, which stands at 8,163 meters (26,781 feet) tall and can be an alternative if you have already been to the Annapurna Circuit.

This trek will takes around 14 to 18 days to complete including days in Kathmandu which starts from the town called Soti khola. From there, you’ll hike through lush forests and cross several suspension bridges over the Budi Gandaki River. As you gain elevation, you’ll pass through small villages with distinct cultures, traditions, and languages. You’ll also have to cross the Larkya La Pass, which sits at an altitude of 5,135 meters (16,847 feet), before descending to the town of Besisahar to complete the trek. This pass is usually covered with snow and ice. Trekking to the pass requires a 3 am start to make the highest point before the winds come, usually around mid-morning.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a restricted region and to trek in this region you will need a permit and can only be done with a licensed guide. The best time to do the trek is during the spring (March to May) or fall (September to November) when the weather is generally dry and clear. However, the trek can be done year-round, with the winter months being colder and the summer months being wetter.

Overall, the Manaslu Circuit Trek is a challenging but rewarding trek that offers a unique cultural and natural experience for those who undertake it.
